A word from our founder

My life – TEFL Fullcircle

Hi, I’m James Gillmon. I founded TEFL Fullcircle in 2015 with one simple goal: to help people change their lives through teaching English.

There was no outside investment, no large team and no marketing agency. Just a belief that online teacher training could be delivered with honesty, great support and qualifications that genuinely helped people achieve their goals.

Over the last ten years, I’ve personally built TEFL Fullcircle from the ground up, supporting more than 70,000 learners from around the world.

A certificate that
stands up to checking.

Anyone can print a certificate. Ours is awarded by Gatehouse Awards – an Ofqual-recognised Awarding Organisation – and our Level 5 Diploma sits on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework. That means a school in Hanoi or a platform in Madrid can verify it independently, without taking our word for anything.

You’re in safe hands

UK Government regulated since 2024.

Anyone can print a certificate. Ours is awarded by Gatehouse Awards – an Ofqual-recognised Awarding Organisation – and our Level 5 Diploma sits on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework. That means a school in Hanoi, Tokyo or Madrid can verify it independently, without taking our word for anything.

Regulated qualification

200-Hour Level 5 Online TEFL Diploma

  • Awarded by Gatehouse Awards, recognised by Ofqual – the UK Government qualifications regulator
  • Sits at Level 5 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework: the same level as CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL
  • Independently verifiable by any employer or visa authority
  • Accepted for work-visa applications in China, South Korea, Vietnam and the UAE
Internationally accredited

120, 160 & 200-Hour courses

  • Internationally accredited by Gatehouse Awards and accepted by most schools and online platforms
  • Not regulated qualifications – we say so on every course page, because you deserve to know
  • Meets the 120-hour minimum asked for by Preply, Cambly, italki and Lingoda
  • Every hour counts toward the Level 5 Diploma if you upgrade later
“We feel delighted to accredit TEFL Fullcircle’s courses. Their practical teaching experience, knowledge of the TEFL marketplace, drive for innovation, determination to get things right first time for their learners and their high-quality writing were first class.”

Katie Powell – Director and Founder, Gatehouse Awards
The honest comparison to CELTA. Both sit at Level 5. CELTA includes six hours of assessed teaching with real students; our Diploma is studied online and assessed on coursework. That’s a real difference, so we don’t paper over it – our 25-Hour Online Teaching Practicum adds observed, graded lessons to close it. Read the full Level 5 vs CELTA comparison →

Turn your passion into your profession

You don’t need a teaching degree.
You need a qualification and a plan.

Most of our learners have never taught before. Some are 19 and want a year abroad; some are 55 and done with the office. The course is the same. What changes is where it takes you.

Changing career

Nearly one in five new TEFL teachers is a career changer. Study in the evenings, keep your job, and be qualified in six weeks with a credential employers recognise.

Start with Level 5

Teaching from home

Online platforms want 120 hours and a verifiable certificate – nothing more. Add the 40-Hour Teaching English Online course and you’re ready for the interview, not just the application.

Teach English online

English isn’t your first language

You can absolutely do this. With Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) or your country’s equivalent, thousands of schools across Europe, Asia and Latin America will hire you – being bilingual is an advantage.

I ♥ TEFL

The bit that isn’t on the timetable.

Teaching pays for a life, not just a job. Twenty contact hours a week leaves a lot of week – and our graduates travel to neighbouring countries, learn to cook, learn to dive, and make friends they keep for years.

Both sit at Level 5 on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework, so they are the same regulated level. They are not identical. CELTA includes six hours of assessed teaching with real students; our Level 5 Diploma is studied online and assessed on written coursework. Our 25-Hour Online Teaching Practicum adds observed, graded teaching practice to close that gap. For online teaching and most schools abroad, a Level 5 Diploma meets the requirement. For competitive university or British Council roles, CELTA plus classroom experience still carries more weight. See the full side-by-side comparison.

It means the qualification is placed on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework and awarded through an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation.
