  • Personal Statement: A written statement explaining the relevance of prior learning to the intended course of study and how it aligns with the learning outcomes.
  • Evidence Portfolio: A portfolio of evidence demonstrating prior learning, which may include certificates, transcripts, work samples, professional references, and other relevant documentation.

  1. Assessment and Evaluation

Upon receiving the RPL application, the TEFL Fullcircle RPL assessment team will review the submitted materials. The assessment process involves:

Evidence Review: Evaluating the authenticity, relevance, and sufficiency of the evidence provided by the learner.

Interview: Conducting an interview with the learner (if necessary) to gain further insight into their prior learning experiences and clarify any uncertainties.

Mapping: Mapping the learner’s prior learning against the course learning outcomes to determine the extent of credit or exemptions that can be granted.

  1. Decision and Notification

Following the assessment, the RPL assessment team will make a decision regarding the learner’s application. The decision may result in:

Full Credit: Granting full credit or exemptions for specific modules or courses.

Partial Credit: Granting partial credit, requiring the learner to complete additional assessments or learning activities.

No Credit: Denying the application if the prior learning does not meet the required criteria.

Learners will receive written notification of the decision, including feedback and any further steps required.

  1. Appeals Process

Learners have the right to appeal the RPL assessment decision if they believe it was unfair or did not adequately consider the evidence provided. The appeals process involves:

Appeal Submission: Submitting a written appeal outlining the grounds for the appeal and any additional evidence or information.

Review Panel: Convening an independent review panel to reassess the application and make a final decision.

Final Decision: Communicating the outcome of the appeal to the learner, with no further recourse available.
